With increased global competition and an accelerating pace of innovation, attracting skilled talent becomes ever more important to secure long-term economic growth. A skilled workforce can be achieved through domestic education, by attracting foreign talent, or by individuals studying abroad or gaining knowledge in another country.

The International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025), proclaimed by the UN, marks 100 years of modern quantum mechanics. It aims to raise awareness of quantum science's impact on technology and society through global events and activities.

As part of the celebration, join the SIREUS team and the Embassy of Sweden in Washington for a virtual workshop featuring leading Swedish and American experts on quantum computing and opportunities for enhanced bilateral research collaboration.

SIREUS RESEARCH forum

SIREUS held a RESEARCH forum with Daniel Windoff and Bill Powell, two prominent U.S.-based deep tech investors focused on life sciences and human performance. The forum covered a crucial topic: “University-Based Startups: Getting Investment Ready to Raise Capital in the U.S.,” with SIREUS Program Director Christer Bergman as the session’s moderator.

Students at LiU and WSU participate in a pioneering four-way collaboration

In our increasingly globalized and interconnected society, gaining industry experience in a global setting provides a vital asset for students preparing to enter the workforce. SIREUS member Linköping University (LiU) and affiliate Washington State University (WSU) have united their efforts to establish a groundbreaking four-way collaboration combining a student exchange with research and industry. This initiative is focusing on the computing-based design philosophy supporting Boeing’s and Saab’s co-designed and co-produced cutting-edge T-7A Red Hawk training aircraft.
