Kei Koizumi (he/his) serves currently as the Principal Deputy Director for Policy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Since January 2021, Koizumi has been at OSTP in various roles, including Acting Executive Director of the National Science and Technology Council and previously as Chief of Staff and Acting Director. Before the Biden-Harris Administration, Koizumi was Senior Advisor for Science Policy at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He was Assistant Director for Federal R&D at OSTP from 2009 to 2016. He was Director of the R&D Budget and Policy Program at AAAS from 1995 to 2009. He received his MA in International Science and Technology Policy from the George Washington University, where he has taught science policy, and his BA from Boston University in Political Science and Economics. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
