Hans-Erik Nilsson, born 1965, is a professor of electronics design at Mid Sweden University.
Hans-Erik Nilsson received his doctorate in solid state electronics at KTH in 1997. In 2000, he became an associate professor at KTH and two years later a professor at Mid Sweden University.
From 2002 to 2007, Hans-Erik Nilsson was head of one of Mid Sweden University’s research departments, EKS, with over 35 active researchers and extensive research infrastructure. In 2007 he became head of the Department of Information Technology and Media, and since 2010 he is Dean of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Media.
His research interests include advanced image sensors, RFID antennas and systems, printable electronics, measurement and sensor technology, simulation of complex systems and components, and fiber optic sensors.
Since 2022, Hans-Erik Nilsson leads the strategic research environment Transtech, a research program that includes the research centers STC (industrial IT), FSCN (forest industrial center) and STRC (sport technology).
