In 2016, Klahr received a distinguished professional achievement award from AIEA for her service and leadership in international education. Fulbright Awards took her to India in 2011 and Norway in 2017. While completing her doctorate, Klahr was invited to conduct a research project at the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
